A message from Bonnie during COVID-19
As communities across the world are grappling with the ramifications of a new normal, let’s remember that we are not alone but united as a global family. Regardless of economic status, age, race, religion, culture, ethnicity, gender identity, occupation, or geographic borders, the virus will impact us all.
We can do something positive right from the comfort of our own homes and it doesn’t cost anything! Even though we are separated, no one should feel emotionally isolated or alone during these unprecedented times; we can connect with those who are struggling by sending free e-messages of encouragement and hope.
Since we can no longer give hugs, handshakes, or gather around our tables in community, KomfortKardz™ allows you to reach family, friends, loved ones, caregivers, hospital workers, doctors, nurses, people serving in the military, to all those who are risking their lives or just to let someone know, you were thinking about them; embracing them right where they are. We can make someone’s day a bit brighter. You may choose one of my photos, drawings and verses, or you may upload your photos or artwork and write your own message, (in your own language), making each card you send, uniquely fitting your individual needs.
We can choose to look beyond ourselves to our global connectedness as people. To look for a need and try to fill it – even if it’s as simple as sending notes of comfort and caring. When we unite with kindness and caring, it’s a powerful force which offers compassion, shows inner courage, and helps those who are struggling to focus on hope and better days ahead. As a global family, we take care of each other in good times and bad.
A Message From Bonnie
I designed KomfortKardz™ to be a non-intrusive way to reach out to anyone who was struggling or needed a bit of encouragement or just to say, “I love you”, “I’m thinking about you”, “I care”.
When I was 18, I was diagnosed with a life threatening illness. At a time when most teens were having the time of their lives, I was fighting for mine. During that time, I felt totally alone, marginalized, isolated, and invisible. For a teenager, it was devastating!
Knowing what it felt like to be marginalized and invisible, the thought kept occurring to me, over the years, that there had to be other people who felt the same way.
After retiring in 2011, I decided to pursue the idea of finding a platform to allow anyone to send simple uplifting words, from the comfort of their own home.
Many people feel alone or emotionally isolated and I thought maybe a little note of encouragement, literally virtual hugs through-out the day from friends and loved ones, might make a huge difference in their life. Knowing someone was thinking about you, wraps you in a feeling of virtual warmth. I understand it’s a gift, to receive a message from someone who truly cares deeply and supports you. Maybe your e-card will be the lifeline someone needed to make it through another day.
I hope KomfortKardz™ will help keep you stay connected with the very special people, in your life, who mean so much to you. Or to reach out to people on the frontlines who tirelessly give their all everyday (often without any thanks).
Reaching Out During a Difficult Time
Sometimes it feels awkward or intrusive to speak to a person face-to-face or over the phone. KomfortKardz™ lets you reach out quickly and instantly across emotional, personal, and geographic boundaries. Any minute, any hour, when someone needs you the most—you can send inspiring messages at the times when your support is needed. When this happens, the world becomes a more connected, more thoughtful, more considerate, and kinder environment.
Healing Through Art
Since each photo and drawing is my original work, I hope they tell a story of inclusion and hopefulness and that you will find your own stories and a voice among them.
Please feel free to browse all card categories. I hope you will find just the right photo or artwork from the collection of cards, but if not, you may now upload your own photos and artwork.
I envision KomfortKardz™ to be messages you’d send out at the spur of the moment, several times per day. They are appropriate for more than just “special” occasions (such as condolences, thank you notes, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries), though many of my cards can be sent on these occasions, as well.
You’ll be able to “build” KomfortKardz™ to address your own personal and unique situations by clicking on the link below and following the easy step-by-step process.
KomfortKardz™ might be just the lifeline someone needed to make it through another day.
